Dozens of smartphones were introduced in 2021, including the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, iPhone 13 and Google Pixel 6, which have received almost no media attention. However, many worthy models almost did not “light up” on the radar screens of publications, a survey of Android Authority users helped to recall them.

Which smartphones of 2021 were most underestimated
According to the survey results, the undisputed leader among underrated smartphones became Sony Xperia 1 III equipped with a telephoto camera module and a 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is waterproof, has a 3.5mm headphone jack and an expansion slot for memory cards. 35% of respondents voted for it.
The second place was taken by ASUS Zenfone 8 , which received 22.5% of the votes. The company decided to “go against the tide” and presented for 630 dollars an unusually compact smartphone for the modern market with a 5.9-inch display, much more ergonomic than many other flagships. The novelty is also waterproof and has a 3.5 mm headphone output.
The top three includes the Vivo X70 Pro Plus , which was voted for by 14.7% of users. The company has taken the best of the X60 Pro Plus, adding features common to early 2021 flagships, including a QHD + display, wireless charging, and water resistance.
Other overlooked smartphones include:
- Samsung Galaxy A52S 5G (11.74%);
- Poco F3 GT (7.59%);
- Lenovo Legion Duel 2 (4.08%).
Another 4% of respondents voted for “other”, naming models such as Galaxy S21 Ultra, Sony Xperia 5 III and Xperia 10 III in the comments.
